Gimu & Eeem [eim] joined forces to create that 3-tracks story "Analogue by the Lake".
The collaboration starts from a few days at a Finnish cottage by a lake, goes around via Brazil /Gimu's home and comes around via China where Eeem lives for this year.
"Analogue" is for "Oberheim SEM" and "Minimoog" which are producing most of the sound textures those tracks lay on. But also for the French "analogue" i.e. "qui présente de l'analogie, des rapports de similitude avec une autre chose": as if music was a universal form of sharing and elaboration across great distances.
Those tracks extend from the contemplation of the nature to an expression of our fragile life's expectations, but we hope, as well looking forward to the future.

"So after almost one year here we have a small grasp of what was hidden in the closet a thorough selection of four little gems we have kept for a long time. Those are the outcome of various recordings done in Valencia. All pieces are segments of longer live improvisations between cello and live electronics. The tracks on "Traveller" do without striking effects and fashionable frills. instead the listener can expect clean elaborate electro sounds that focus on an aspect that has been put aside in many other places: composition and melodics. the songs deploy these features to tell us about moods that oscillate between wanderlust, homesickness, well-being and mere existence."Traveller" is deliberately less percussive and emphasizes the narrative facetes of the melodies.
This album, although almost classical at its core, develops its very own modernity. The combination of highly pleasing feel-good components and tension-building bass and lead lines develops the typical Xenoton charm.
The two
remixes complement this release excellently. Both reinterpret the
original track in their very own ways by adding something new to the
already described characteristics. Abjective adds some ruptured unrest
to "camden lock" revealing a somewhat different aspect of the track. Weldroid quite properly underlines the rocking (or at least
head-nodding) character of "friedrichshain" with massive beats. Both
remixes are not added just for being there but they add fascinating
aspects to Xenoton's music and enhance the whole release.
Listening to "Traveller" is fun, while repeated listenings reward through
the discovery of new details. It is highly recommended to go on the next
part of the journey with this travel guide.

2Kutup - Desolate
2Kutup is a dreamy drone/ambient project that is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
2Kutup means “Two Poles” in Turkish. It was derived from the word “bipolar”. 2Kutup describes two opposite sides, black&white, good&evil, sadness&happiness, peace&war, in other words an inexhaustible thrive with bipolar disorder or a borderline personality.
Life itself is bipolar according to 2Kutup and it is accompanied by music which is composed of contrast emotions expressed, whirled up into one.

M-PeX - ODÝSSEIA

A lovingly crafted, delicately assembled album; a gate to another dimension.
Latest album by M-PeX, his 5th on Enough Records is a double album. It draws it's inspirations from two odysseys: Homero's and Kubrik's. The first cd, sub-titled "Prologus" is entirely acoustic, with M-PeX on the Portuguese guitar and André Coelho on double bass. The second cd is titled "Epilogus", adding electronic elements to the sounds and featuring additional guest artist DJ X-Acto providing some additional electronics and scratch sounds. Artwork by Marco Madruga.

Imagine the crystalline sound of a Portuguese Guitar. Imagine a laptop knocking out electronic rhythms. M-PeX is just that, electronic music with Portuguese Guitar. Or maybe it's Portuguese Guitar with electronics.
