The latest show of mine on Lahmacun Radio (Budapest,Hungary) is a fuckload of fun for the more mopey moments in one's life. The thunderous black slam, the seethe of the drums, the sharp wonky corrosion of the guitars grinding away in this delightfully murky mix.
Spartan, rhythmic, noisy guitar and drum-driven gothic-tinged post-punk.
A Dream We Had. Live on Lahmacun Radio (Budapest, Hungary). Sunday, March 17, 5-6pm, CET.
I'll play music from; Gang Of Four, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Colin Newman, Killing Joke, Television, Lydia Lunch & Rowland S. Howard and more

I'm So Hollow were an English post-punk band from Sheffield, active from 1978 to 1981. They were part of the Sheffield scene, alongside such bands as Clock DVA, Comsat Angels, Artery, The Human League and Vice Versa. The band's line-up was: Jane Wilson (vocals, keyboards), Rod Leigh (vocals, guitar), Gary Marsden (bass), and Yosef Sawicki (drums).

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, also known very briefly as the Lorries, are an English post punk band formed in Leeds in early 1981 by guitarist and songwriter Chris Reed, vocalist Mark Sweeney, bassist Steve Smith and drummer Mick Brown

No goth whining here. Just observations on life's various pitfalls and perils, and meeting the disappointment with the kind of fire that will knock you on your ass. I love it.
Opening tune from their debut lp Talk About the Weather (released in 1985, Red Rhino)

At once both blissful and nightmarish, Visions sounds like a famous lost 80's dream pop record from a dystopian alternate universe. Countless layers upon layers of Claire Boucher's (aka Grimes) pixie-like, dynamic vocals mesh perfectly with equally thick, luscious synth beats and sounds that are as dancy as they are dreamy. It really feels like a world unto itself. The 80's almost Casio sound like production gives it an experimental edge. Icy, ethereal electropop brilliance.

36 - Trance Anthems For A Sunken Generation

"There's a cruel levity attached to the title of this album. Those wonderful, naive visions we had of the future simply never materialised. In a world that is increasingly hostile to optimism, it's easy to become lost in the murk.
'Trance Anthems For A Sunken Generation' thrives in this negative energy. It's an aggressive inversion of the usual 36 sound. Euphoric synths are torn apart. Melody becomes fractured and beaten into submission. The rush is cold; The breakdown of sound is closer to that of collapse.
How are you expected to put your hands in the air when you can't even rise from your knees?" - 36

Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo; And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out. Released in 2000, remained one of my favorite albums.
It sets a somber but reflective mood that it is nice to wallow in. Things are put into perspective, memories rise and fall
A slow starter, sleepy and melancholic, this album makes its way to the subconscious in a way few things do.
Beautiful. beautiful. beautiful. Don't let this one sneak past you.
A wonderful tune from this lovely album;

My weekly show on Budapest based Lahmacun Radio

Horizons Of Suburbia; my weekly show on Budapest based Lahmacun Radio (originally aired on Sunday, December 17, 5-6pm, CET)
Collection of subdued ambience and electronics with hints of nominal piano melodies, lush, sensual, feminine, full-bodied string arrangements with piano and voice. There is a hint of contemporary classical string work going on, diving into the icy ambience. Drones sliding in and out through this elegant collection, floating off into oblivion.
In this show I'll play tunes from; Lucinda Chua, Daughter, Gimu, Daniva Danive, Naono, Blue Sky Research and others

My weekly show on Budapest based Lahmacun Radio

Strange Stories; my  radio show on Budapest based Lahmacun radio (originally aired on Sunday, December 03, 5-6pm, CET). A wall of machine driven sounds are closing in, and you have the distinct sensation of sitting in at a strange shamanistic ritual, drift off into an ethereal wilderness, a forlorn realm of landscapes that feel at the same time as intimate as your own body sounds yet hauntingly desolate and unfamiliar

In this show; Absolute Body Control, Klinik, Cabaret Voltaire, Click Click, Thcontroll and more Cover photo: Igor B (aka Geigercounterculture)

Until I Fall' by Lucinda Chua, from the EP; Antidotes 2 (released May 7, 2021, 4AD) Breathtaking tune. There's a perceptible influence of David Sylvian

What is more beautiful tonight
And bluer than the sky
I had to climb
Higher and higher
Until I fall, until I fall
Until I fall, until I fall
Until I fall, until I fall
Until I fall, until

Behind The Shades; my first show in September on Budapest based Lahmacun Radio; it has traces of everything; from minimal synth, Electronic Body Music, to post-punk acts. Slowdive - Everything Is Alive

Slowdive’s fifth full-length, Everything Is Alive (released September 1, 2023) radiate a majestic and fragile beauty. It may only contain eight tracks, but Slowdive manage to craft an album of profound beauty full of emotional heft, which encompasses sadness, joy, gratitude, and ultimately optimism. There is an intimate, insular feeling to the record. Slow-paced and spacy-sounding dream pop, this album became an instant favorite of mine https://slowdive.bandcamp.com/album/everything-is-alive
A Place to Bury Strangers; this Brooklyn trio drenches lovesick indie pop in sheets of deafening static and distortion. Heavy, atmospheric wall of sound-influenced blend of tinnitus-inducing noise-rock, shoegaze. Plenty of bands have tapped the trebly, ecstatic side of shoegaze in recent years, but none have imbued it with this band's frustrated aggression or lacerating feedback Easy Life from the album Rare Meat - Demos And Rarities 2003-2017

Snowstorm by ▲ı▼ı▲

New wave/electronic beats and sounds (almost shoegaze but not quite) and ethereal vocal harmonies fuse in this dark yet playful EP based on a Galaxie 500 tune. Edgy, eerily calming mood that is carefully curated. Electric and experimental, with haunting themes. The dark imagery of wayward romance punctuated by angst and heartache wraps you around its finger, pulling you deeper and deeper into the Snowstorm https://eschaton23.bandcamp.com/album/snowstorm
